Home About us

A clean environment fosters healthy individuals. Maintaining environmental cleanliness is our primary responsibility. The environment directly impacts our lives; however, in today’s fast-paced world, human activities have placed it in jeopardy. To raise awareness of this critical issue and inspire collective action for a sustainable environment, three friends founded the Navanagar Nature Club (NNC) in 2008 with the objective of fostering collective environmental responsibility.

Today, NNC is synonymous with environmental conservation in Gujarat. Over the past 17 years, the organization has actively implemented various environmental awareness programs and initiatives, including:

Conservation of Wildlife & Marine Life

  • Tree plantations.
  • Wildlife photography exhibitions and competitions.
  • Beach clean-ups, especially after Ganesh Utsav, to manage the disposal of immersed idols responsibly.
  • Marine education camps on islands.
  • Seminars on diverse topics during Wildlife Week.

Water Conservation
Awareness

  • Construction and deepening of check dams and farm ponds.
  • Rainwater harvesting projects, such as well and borehole recharge systems, implemented in schools, colleges, and villages.
  • Organizing conferences to address water scarcity challenges.

Started by just three individuals, NNC has now grown to include over 265 enthusiastic members. Membership is open to individuals who demonstrate a genuine interest and exceptional dedication to the organization’s objectives.
Prominent writers, intellectuals, environmentalists, private and government employees, and college students from Jamnagar are proud members of NNC. The organization is widely recognized for organizing various non-commercial activities related to environmental protection and awareness, earning a reputation for its transparent, ethical, and impactful management.
NNC’s efforts extend beyond animals, birds, and trees to include land, climate, and water conservation. Through public awareness and active community participation, the club works not only to preserve the environment but also to enhance the social fabric.
Operating on the principle of “no profit, no loss,” NNC is a registered charitable trust (Registration No. E/3617) with 12A, 80G, and CSR certifications. Donations to NNC are eligible for tax exemptions under Section 80G, and companies in India can allocate their CSR funds to support the organization.
